Use sync to upload large filesįirst, SharePoint and OneDrive can hold files up to 250 gigabytes in size. Now let’s cover some tips and best practices on this. Let’s run through some demo on how to do it on a PC. Open the file while offline and changes will be automatically uploaded the next time you get reconnected. Open an Office file while connected to the internet and it’ll save all changes automatically just like if you opened it through OneDrive, SharePoint, or Teams directly. OneDrive also lets you choose which files you want to save on your device so you don’t overflow its storage with tons of folders and files you don’t actually care about. And vice versa (if I move things around in the one drive folder, it’s not shown in my laptop files)ĭo I HAVE to open the documents from the actual one drive folder on my Mac for things to sync? I thought I could open them just from my documents folder on my laptop and that would work but it isn’t unless I’m doing something wrong. With sync, you’re able to access files stored in OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams through Windows Explorer and macOS Finder, which is especially useful if you love the days of shared drives and click click clicking through to get your files right through Explorer or Finder. I believe I synced my “documents” folder and all its contents to my OneDrive. I feel like when I work on documents on my laptop they’re not syncing into my onedrive appropriately. My personal laptop is a Mac so I thought it would be easier but nope :( They recently gave me a MacBook and now I feel like everything is different. So I just started using OneDrive for the first time last year on my work laptop, and HP and didnt have many issues.
